History
Ardbraccan is an ancient church landscape associated with St. Ultan / St. Braccan and later with the Bishops of Meath, giving the cemetery major local historical importance.

Cemetery Regulations
Plot Eligibility & Cost
- Plots are available only to people born in or living in the parish.
- Plot size: 9ft x 9ft
- Cost: €700, payable when selecting the plot.
- Plots cannot be transferred to another person.
- New plots are only allocated after signing an agreement to follow all cemetery rules.
- Due to limited space, plots are not available to non-parishioners.
Headstones & Grave Regulations
- Maximum headstone size: 5ft high x 3ft wide.
- Only kerbing up to 5 inches high is allowed (no other surrounds).
- No statues or decorations permitted on graves or surrounds.
- All plans for headstones, monuments, or kerbing must be approved in advance by the Cemetery Committee.
- If measurements exceed limits, the structure must be dismantled.
- The Cemetery Committee may remove anything they believe is not in keeping with the cemetery’s appearance.
Work & Contractors
- Only contractors with valid insurance certificates (provided to the Parish Office) may:
- Dig graves using mechanical diggers.
- Erect or carry out work on monuments.
Other Rules
- No planting of trees or shrubs on graves (roots cause future issues).
- Parishioners are encouraged to use space carefully due to limited availability.
